At Naturally Clean
we have created our own cleaning products
made from organically certified ingredients.
These ingredients, such as white vinegar, natural saponins and essential oils amongst others are the ethical and safe alternative to synthetic compounds containing toxic ingredients. Unlike many artificial chemicals, which can accumulate in our bodies or in the environment, the plant nature of these ingredients result in a product that breaks down readily, causing no harm to your health or nature.
ESSENTIAL OIL PROPERTIES
Many of us often associate essential oils with aromatherapy and day spas, but research has confirmed their various applications. Some of which include antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral, to name a few, depending on the essential oil.
LAVENDER
(Lavandula Officinalis)
This wonderful smelling essential oil is an excellent choice for green cleaning. It’s especially ideal for those who prefer a light, floral scent. It has tremendous antibacterial and deodorizing properties, even against bacteria within the Streptococcus species.
LEMON
(Citrus Limonum)
As an essential oil, lemon is a popular choice due to its citrusy, uplifting scent that just makes things smell clean and fresh. It is the most excellent degreaser, neutraliser and disinfecting household cleaner.
PEPPERMINT
(Mentha Piperita)
There are countless uses for peppermint oil around the home. Its cool, refreshing scent and powerful antibacterial properties make it a great addition to spray cleaners, particularly bathrooms.
TEA TREE
(Melaleuca Altrnifolia)
Is there anything tea tree oil can’t do? It fights germs, bacteria and viruses. Known for its antiseptic and antifungal properties, tea tree oil is excellent for keeping germs away from your kitchen and bathroom.
EUCALYPTUS
(Eucalyptus Citriodora)
As a natural disinfectant, eucalyptus oil effectively and gently removes grease and stains. With its clean fresh fragrance it can be used anywhere around the home. It also makes a great natural air freshener.
SWEET ORANGE
(Citrus Sinensis)
Not only does orange oil have a happy scent, but, like lemon, it’s great against grease and bacteria. It can be used on kitchen surfaces and floors, leaving your home sparkling and citrus fresh.
PINE
(Pinus Sylvestris)
Pine oil has antimicrobial, antiseptic and antifungal properties. Already a common ingredient in cleaners, pine oil is effective at killing yeast spores, E.coli and other household germs. Pine is perfect for ridding the bathroom of mold and mildew and cleaning hard floors while leaving a natural fresh scent.
OTHER INGREDIENTS
BICARBONATE OF SODA
Baking soda is one of the top eco-friendly cleaning ingredients and is used in several cleaning products, especially green cleaning ones. Very alkaline in nature with a high pH, it's known for its fantastic deodorizing, whitening, brightening, cleaning and gentle scrubbing abilities.
CASTILE SOAP
Castile soap is a natural liquid or hard soap made from vegetable oils. Unlike commercial soaps that rely on SLS (sodium lauryl sulfate) to create a soapy lather, castile soap’s bubbles come from saponins in the oils that are released from the reaction of lye and oil. This ingredient has become a household staple for environmentally conscious cleaners.
ORGANIC SPIRIT VINEGAR
Known as the miracle cleaner, vinegar is tough on household bacteria like salmonella and E. coli. It removes mildew, dirt and is a great disinfectant. It also acts as a deodorizer and cuts through grease. Vinegar is also biodegradable and safe for the environment.
CITRIC ACID
What exactly is citric acid? It's an acid compound naturally found in citrus fruits and because citric acid kills bacteria, mold, and mildew, it's great for general disinfecting and cleaning. In addition, it serves as a preservative in many cleaning solutions.
AFRICAN BLACK SOAP
100% natural, eco-friendly and economical. A multi purpose product that is extremely effective for cleaning everything in the home from top to bottom. Solvent-free, no added colourings and biodegradable, it is safe for everyone and the environment.
YUCCA ROOT
In almost all chemical cleaning products there are surfactants (surface-active-agent). These help to penetrate stains and act as a foaming agent. Yucca root extract is a highly effective natural surfactant.
